Description

Because I'll be making more and more of these =')))))

This is a hair decoration to go with Hanfu, or ancient Chinese clothing, as you can see in here: [link] <-- Please use your imagination a bit. I know this can be strange from another culture P.O.V. ~XD Even though we call it Hanfu (meaning clothing from time of the Han dynasty), I think it would be more appropriate to use this hairpin for costume with styles born from and before the Tang dynasty, but I don't know how to call it in English ="P

Nope, I'm not Chinese, not by nationality at least. Though my grandpa was, he died too young to be able to give us any of its legacy. But recently many cosplayers around here started to get interested in ancient Chinese clothings and accessories, so I got interested too ⊙ω⊙

It began with a movie about Beijing Opera they got me into: Farewell my concubine. If you haven't watched it, I suggest you prepare a big chunk of tissue, a lot of comfort food, and watch it, and see for yourself the beauty of China that can only be found in old books, and the memories of the past generation now ⊙ω⊙ I can never explain in words about how this movie, how Chen Kaige and Leslie Cheung made me feel, because it was big wave of emotions, a tsunami crashing down on my mind and turning me blind and lost in a mixture of so many contrasting feelings.

Well, people has been saying it's gay movie. I disagree, because in my eyes the Dan played by Leslie Cheung lived in a world where borders of dream and reality, women and men, literature and life, no longer exist. In my eyes, it was a sad movie about the ups and downs of the gorgeous, ancient Chinese culture during a difficult time of history, and the tragedies of the people who went down with it.

The movie was mostly about the years right before and during the Cultural Revolution, and most jewelries featured in it was for the Dan roles in Beijing Opera. But when my imagination and interest was given a sparkle, it boomed, like usual, and it resulted in me weaving my wires into shapes of oriental jewelries from an old old time :")

But here I am babbling too much again, about something people probably wouldn't care about <(*ΦωΦ*)>
I'll be disappearing, in a sec, *poof~* (ノ゚▽゚)ノ
